GERALDINE (GERRY) KNAPP (LARRY)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALDINE (GERRY) KNAPP (nee LARRY) On August 16, 2013, Gerry Knapp passed away at her home. Gerry is survived by her companion Armand (Dick) De Ryck, who provided many years of loving care. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Doris Knapp, numerous nieces and nephews and their families, Dick's three sons and their families and a special friend, Marlene Shattuck. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ralph Knapp, her mother, Signy Larry, her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Joan Larry. Gerry was born November 30, 1916. She spent her early life around the Narcisse and Chatfield areas where she met Ralph Knapp. Gerry and Ralph were married October 31, 1935. In 1944, Ralph and Gerry moved to Winnipeg where Gerry worked at the Mail Order of the T. Eaton Co. for many years. She was a founding member of the Chatfield Old Timers Club, enjoying their many activities and along with Ralph, and several others, she worked on the publishing of the Chatfield History Book, "Wilderness to Wildlife". Ralph and Gerry celebrated 58 years of a loving, happy, married life. Gerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. She always had lovely flowers. Gerry was a member of the Teulon and Stonewall Seniors Clubs. She loved to play cards, especially bridge and cribbage. Dick and Gerry travelled and went on a number of cruises. Gerry was very informed on current events and was well read. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. I know that all who knew Gerry will have very fond memories of a very dear and gracious lady. I will always cherish memories of her hospitality and generosity. My sincere condolences to all of her family, especially to Dick and his family.
