MAURICE TRESOOR It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandpa on August 29, 2013. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and forever loved. Left to cherish his many fond memories are his beloved wife Vivian, of 40 years, sons: Tim; Kent, granddaughter Ainsley; Grant (Gaye), grandchildren David, Donald, Allyson; daughter René (Mark), grandchildren, Michael, Joe, Jake, Christine; son Tom, granddaughter Tamara; three great-grandchildren; brothers Terry (Shirley), Al (Elaine), Ken, and sister-in-law Marion. Also mourning his loss are cousins George Tresoor (Marge), Bill Prinz (Peggy), Joan Allason, and many nieces and nephews. Moe was predeceased by his parents, brothers Bill, Fred, and sister Maureen. Moe was born January 27, 1933 in Winnipeg and grew up in Elmwood. Moe proudly wore a shirt that read "On the 7th day God created Elmwood". Moe was a strong willed man, with a remarkable work ethic, commitment and determination. He was driven to provide the very best for his family. His primary concern was always for his family and grandchildren. He was a loving grandfather and took so much pride in his grandchildren's endeavors and accomplishments. Throughout his life Moe enjoyed hockey, golf, curling, hunting and fishing. These activities were enjoyed in later years with his grandchildren at the "shootin' shack", on the golf course, or watching them in any of their sporting activities. From age 16 Moe was in the tire industry which led to Expertire Inc. being opened in 1976 along with his partner Al Tousignant. For many years he was a member of the Western Canada Tire Dealers and served as president 1985 to 1987. He was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2010. At the time of his passing he was a director on the Tire Dealership Board. Moe retired in 1992 but really never retired. He continued to work selling tires, doing bookkeeping and always kept his eyes and ears open for a deal. The many contacts Moe made through business became everlasting friendships. If you were a friend you were family. Moe's circle was vast. Our family would like to express a special thank you to the Health Sciences Centre MICU and to Dr. Simerpreet Singh Bal for their care and compassion. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Moe's life will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Thank you Dad, we love you... René, Kent, Grant, Tim For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • My sincerest condolences to Vivian and family..for the many years I have known Moe I looked up to him as a father figure and role model. He truly was a special person who left a lasting impression on anyone who met him. I remember numerous times he would call and invite me for a swim and bbq, and then he would add don't forget to bring your workboots. You will be sadly missed but never forgotten. A perfect example of how a man should be. - Posted by: John Zebeluk (Zeb) (Friend) on: Sep 16, 2013

  • Aunt Vivian and family, our deepest condolences to all of you. I wish we could be there, but know that you are in our hearts. Although we live half a country away from each other, I always knew and was comforted to know that Uncle Moe was always there for me if I needed him, and I will forever cherish one of the greatest gifts of all, the honor of having him walk me down the aisle on that wonderful day I said “I do”. Thank you Uncle Moe, you have left a footprint on my heart. Thanks Uncle Moe, I love you, and I will miss talking to you, but I am a better person for having you a part of my life. Love, Cathy and Brent xo - Posted by: Cathy Banting (Tresoor) (Niece) on: Sep 05, 2013

  • My sincerest condolences to the the family. I am fairly new (as far as Moe was concerned) in the tire industry, 15 years and first met him as he was organizing a charity golf tournament on behalf of the Western Canadian Tire Dealer Association. I never knew him as a family man but fully respected him in the industry. Will miss you Moe. - Posted by: Joe Cabral (Industry Colleague ) on: Sep 05, 2013

  • For many years I had an amazing relationship with an amazing man doing the kind of things a man might do with his father. As my father was a long distance away and our contact was sparse, moe became a surrogate father figure and great friend. Father's Day always included a call to Moe. I shall miss him greatly. Looking forward til we meet again, God willing. Rest in peace my friend - Posted by: Greg dinning (Friend) on: Sep 03, 2013

  • An amazing man whom I have great memories of on Tresoor Point Road at the cabin with Uncle Moe, Auntie Viv, Rene, Kent and Grant. When my Husband was sick and dying of Cancer, Uncle Moe brought us homemade bread and was always eager to do whatever he and his family could to make my live less stressful.
