We are sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a fine example of a good neighbour, helping fix my lawnmower, driving me to rescue my horses down the road, advice on handling the acreage, bringing us grapefruit from Texas, we will miss seeing him around. - Posted by: Bruce and Terri Fiske (Neighbours) on: Sep 10, 2013

We're sorry to hear of your loss. Sincere sympathy goes out to all the family. The obituary write up was well done. I wonder which one of my former students had input and ideas for it? Take good care of yourselves at this most difficult time. - Posted by: Florence and Bernie Kisiloski (friends) on: Sep 04, 2013

Although we live not far, just north in Gimli, Lloyd and myself first met James and Betsy Ann in Texas about 4 years ago. James was a wonderful mentor of community spirit and willing to help if asked. We've enjoyed helping them at the Orange Grove dances, Lloyd especially as James's protege for placing tables as they should be after the dances were over. When the work was done James and Lloyd would enjoy a wee dram of scotch together; those times will be sadly missed. Although time has been cut short we feel blessed to have known James. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Betsy Ann, Robert, Gary, Jody and their families. "May your heart find healing in cherished memories, May your spirit find comfort in the thoughts and prayers of those who care about you." James is gone from our sight but remember, he is as close as your heart. Warmly, Janice & Lloyd - Posted by: Lloyd & Janice Tokle (friends) on: Sep 04, 2013

Living In Toronto, I did not get to know my cousin James very well until my visits to him and Betsy Ann on their farm these last few years. Solid, is the best single word when I think of him. His character and commitment will be missed by his family and community. - Posted by: George Teichman (Cousin) on: Sep 04, 2013
