  • A kind and caring person who had time for everyone. A great teammate who had fun every time he stepped on the field, that was obvious to every one of his teammates. Now who are we going to pick on? He's probably had a few games with his new team already. Keep smiling buddy - Posted by: Ron Decock (Teammate) on: Sep 05, 2013

  • Over the many years of playing softball against the Shortstops slow pitch team, Larry always said hello with that big friendly smile of his. A quick jab at your talent (or lack of it) was always heard (all in fun). His constant negotiation with the Umpire to get the call he wanted and ongoing encouragement for his teammates is a memory I have of Larry. We will all miss that warm smile and heartfelt hello. - Posted by: John McConkey (Bleacher Bums / Flocking Ducks Baseball) on: Sep 05, 2013

  • Larry and I were on the track team in high school, but I didn't know him well back then as he was a few years younger than me. We met again many years later - playing sports again - volleyball I believe it was - or maybe slow pitch - or both. We had some good laughs. My sincere condolences to his family - he was a really great guy. Too young. - Posted by: Peggy (Hill) Simpkins (Friend) on: Sep 05, 2013

  • We have participated in the Can-Am ball tournament in Fargo for many, many years, where sportsmanship, friendship, and enthusiasm for the game and life in general were key. Larry was exemplary of all of the above. Although we played on another Winnipeg team, we will always remember his big smile, those warm hugs, and how much he enjoyed the fellowship and being out on that field. Larry will be missed. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. Sincerely, Gord & Brucie - Posted by: Gord and Brucie Kusmack (Friends) on: Sep 04, 2013
