LOUIS FOREST January 10, 1926 - September 14, 2013 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Louis Forest. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Lorraine, son Marc (Shannon), daughter Mariette (Brian) and grandchildren Kimberly, Tyler and Daniel. Dad was born and raised in St. Malo, Manitoba, one of 14 children. It was in St. Malo that he met his loving and devoted wife Lorraine to whom he was married for 63 years. After they were married, Dad worked on the family farm until he and Mom moved to Winnipeg in 1953. In Winnipeg, Dad worked at Poulin's Pest Control for 37 years until his retirement. He worked tirelessly to provide the best for his family. No job was ever too big. Dad loved the cottage in St. Malo - his "little piece of paradise". It was a great joy for Dad to entertain family and friends around the campfire. Dad had a green thumb and his gardens and yard were always meticulously kept. Dad's other passion was hunting and he was always searching for the elusive big buck. He could spend hours telling stories about his hunting trips, the deer that he got and the ones that got away. Special thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre who attended to Dad's needs and gave him excellent care during his battle with Alzheimer's disease. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 778 Archibald Street, Winnipeg with interment to follow at the St. Malo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220.
