CONCEPCION MANZON (nee POYAOAN) 1923 - 2013 Mrs. Concepcion Manzon passed away at the age of 90 on September 7, 2013 at 11:30 p.m. at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband Victoriano Manzon on June 2003 and daughter Lolita Manzon Cansino in 1997. She was survived by her family in Canada, her children Tirso, her twins Edna and Eduardo, sons-in-law Oscar and Marcelo, together with their children and grandchildren. And with her other children in the Philippines - Bonifacio, Lydia, Gloria, Rudy, Aida, Patricio, Milagros and Leo. Concepcion commonly known as Conching or Lola Conching was born on April 27, 1923 in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, from parents Juanita and Constantino Payaoan. She was married to Victoriano on April 19, 1942 in Pangasinan, Philippines and they were blessed with 12 children. With the help of her daughter Lolita Manzon-Cansino, Lola Conching and her family were given a great opportunity to migrate to Canada. On July 20, 1980, she arrived to Canada together with her husband Victoriano and children Edna, Eduardo, Tirso and Leo. And to earn a living, she worked at Western Gloves as an aide/cleaner. Lola Conching loved to play bingo, card games and enjoyed going to the casino as her pastimes. She also loved watching baseball and Toronto Blue Jays was her favourite team. She was so fond of helping her children by looking after her grandchildren and cooking good meals for them. Lola Conching loved to tell stories about her children and grandchildren in the Philippines and everything about their simple and happy life back home. She would always tell stories about Lolo Victoriano, not only as a good head of the family, but as a good police officer too. The two nights viewing will be held on Thursday and Friday, September 19 and 20, at 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight and the funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 10:00 a.m., to be officiated by Pastor Herminio Ramos at Glen Eden Memorial Garden and Funeral Home at 4477 Main St, West St. Paul, MB.
