DAVID JAMES ROBERT LEITCH Suddenly on September 16, 2013, at his home, David James Robert Leitch, beloved nephew of his aunt, Nancy, and beloved by innumerable friends, passed away at the age of 23 years. David faced many challenges in his far too short life, yet still managed to maintain, through his determination and sheer stubbornness, his courage and dignity through his most difficult times. He lived life on his own terms, and his strength during his hardships was an inspiration to us all. His caring, giving and loving nature touched many lives for which we are all the better for having known him. His time on earth was far too short, and we can only hope his suffering is over and he has found the contentment he sought. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, at 3:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. We will always love and miss you, David. Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I've known and loved David all his life as we are related. He was quite an inspiration to me everytime I would feel sorry for myself I would think of his courage going through life. And I rarely saw him without a smile. - Posted by: Bob Shindle (cousin) on: Sep 26, 2013

  • I met David many years ago when he was a student at Seven Oaks Middle Years. I subbed for David on occasion and worked on the school bus he rode on. His independence impressed me..his determination to "walk" to school rather than go on the bus, playing in the band, and his sometimes wicked sense of humour. - Posted by: Val Surbey (Friend) on: Sep 24, 2013

  • I first met David playing power wheelchair floor hockey years ago. He was always super focused on the game and could move so fast in his chair! I lost touch with him when I switched to different activities but will always remember his good nature and his great laugh! - Posted by: Kristen Claydon (friend) on: Sep 24, 2013

  • My son Derek played Power Wheelchair hockey with and against David. He was the best player out there and a joy to watch. He played with a big heart and touched everyone involved. I am just happy that our family had the pleasure to meet and become friends with David. - Posted by: Keith McLennan (Friend) on: Sep 23, 2013

  • I knew David when he lived at Ten Ten Sinclair. He always took the time to visit with me. I was very sad to hear on the news that he had passed away. I just want to let you know even though I didn't know his family I am thinking of him and those who surrounded him. - Posted by: Dorian (Friend) on: Sep 21, 2013

  • You were an amazing friend. We're going to miss seeing you tonight. - Posted by: Shaw & Jason (Friends) on: Sep 21, 2013

  • It was a shock to hear that David passed away. I met David when I was a little guy starting kindergarten in the same elementary school as David. He was older than me and kinda helped me get comfortable at school. He came to my birthday parties and I remember going trick or treating with him every year for Haloween until we got older. I had fun with him. Then he grew up and went on his way doing things that I was still too young for and we lost touch. It was great to know him and I will miss him. - Posted by: Bryce Thiessen (Friend) on: Sep 21, 2013
