MARYLLA (MARIA) VAN GINKEL 1912-2013 We announce the passing of Marylla at Tuxedo Villa Extendicare on September 19. She is survived by her son Ramon R. Zelech, her sister Jean Green and many nieces and nephews, mostly in Western Canada. She was throughout her life a premiere ladies dress designer located mainly in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She enjoyed and supported the Arts and various cultural pursuits in Winnipeg and elsewhere during her lifetime. Her fashion design education began in Poland and was taken up again at a reputed Fashion Academy in New York during a period in the 1940s. Marylla gave many fashion shows from time to time while she was in business. Three of these presentations were in Winnipeg, New York and Chicago. Her personal wardrobe clients included such ladies as Mrs. Richardson of Winnipeg in the 1940s and 1950s and the wife of the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba in the 1970s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Andrew Bobola Parish, 541 Marion Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2J 0J9. The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Saint Andrew Bobola Parish, 541 Marion Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715
