PETER YAKIMCHUK April 9, 1928 - September 22, 2013 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Peter Yakimchuk at the Betel Home in Selkirk, MB, on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his parents, Max and Dora Yakimchuk. Peter is survived by his loving wife Daisy (nee Bruce); son Allan (Rose); daughter Wendy (Randy) Wesley; daughter Patricia (Terry) Fey; grandchildren Christopher (Jessica) Wesley; Quinton Fey and Terralyn Fey and the Bruce family. Peter was born in the Ukraine, immigrating to Canada at an early age. He worked at Brown's Bakery, McGavin's Bakery and finally Red River Brick and Tile in Lockport. Peter loved camping and family road trips, especially enjoying their many bus tours covering all corners of the United States. His pride and joy was his garden in Clandeboye. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at the Betel Home where Peter was treated with such respect and dignity. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
