Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) GRACE WALLACE Margaret, (Peggy) Wallace passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2013 with her nieces Tanis and Susan at her side. Born in Winnipeg in 1926, Peggy was predeceased by her father George Wallace in 1950, mother Margaret (Gibson) Wallace in 1985 and brother George (Bill) Wallace in 2007. Peggy is survived by her brother Bruce Wallace and sister-in-law Eleanor, of Southampton, Ontario. She was the awesome, beloved aunt of nieces Susan, Tanis, Lori and Peggy Wallace, great-nieces Brandy Bannister and Lindsay Lepage and great-nephews Michael Bannister and Brian LePage. Peggy graduated as a nurse in 1948, was a nursing sister and shared her love and passion for children and teaching through 42 years as a nurse at the Winnipeg Children's Hospital. After retirement in 1991 she spent many hours volunteering at the Deer Lodge Centre, the Health Sciences Library, and her annual favourite, the fall Book Mart in support of the Children's Hospital Foundation. Peggy was a dedicated, compassionate and generous daughter, sister, aunt, nurse and friend. We will miss her tremendously. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Concordia Hospital, N1S, for their compassionate care during the last month. Peggy was a lifelong member of The United Church worshipping at Home St., Maryland, and Silver Heights United Churches as well as an active member of Silver Heights UCW Unit 9. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave., Winnipeg, MB. There will be no interment. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, CE 501-840 Sherbrook St. Winnipeg, MB R3A1S1, www.goodbear.mb.ca or to a charity of your choice.
