Mr. Carvey, I am fondly thinking of your wife. I remember when your father-in-law was my M.L.A. when I lived across from his constituency office in Tuxedo. My social workers Jim and Marilyn worked for Child & Family Services and I remember going there with my respite workers to drop off their timesheets as it was on their way to my house. - Posted by: A special person (A well-known ambassador of Manitoba) on: Sep 25, 2021

My sincere condolences to Janice, Gary and family for the loss of such a wonderful lady. Allison and I were close friends in the late 80's and early 90's, we spent many a day playing scrabble, tennis and cards with Janice, Gary, Allison and I at their cottage in Gimli. Those memories have often made me smile on my return visits to Gimli. The world has lost an amazing lady, i'm so sorry for your loss. My thought and prayers are with you all, God Bless - Posted by: Jorg Achenbach (Friend ) on: Sep 28, 2013

Although we are both from Winnipeg, Alison and I taught together at Ranch Park Elementary School in Coquitlam BC for four years in the late 1990's. Her husband Tony and I coached together at UBC during the same time. Seems just like yesterday when she came into my classroom before students arrived to tell me she was pregnant with Lexie ... such happiness! Alison was joy, love, peace, and hope. We have lost a very special person. Tony is absolutely terrific. Peace be unto you brother. My deepest condolences to the girls and the Filmon and Carvey families. Very sad news to hear of mrs. Filmon-Carvey. Jaimie was in her class for three years in multi age. To say Allison had an impact on Jaimie would be an understatement. The depth of her love for teaching, and the care she showed each student will forever be her legacy. Our family is very sad now that she is gone, but at the same time, grateful and blessed that she touched our lives so profoundly. You will be missed. Our prayers to her family. I met Allison for the first time in Grade 7, we continued on in the same class until Grade 12 at the Collegiate. As others have said, she always had a smile, and was always willing to try anything! My first recollection of Allison include walking the streets when we volunteered for her father's (first) campaign. Great memories of her and all the rest of the French Immersion gang participating in events, trips, the ups and downs of young lives. My condolences to everyone to her immediate family, parents, siblings and multitudes of friends. - Posted by: Philip Shore (School Friend ) on: Sep 26, 2013

I was so sad to hear that Allison passed away yesterday. I say these words and it doesn't seem real. She was such a huge part of all of my childhood memories and one of my greatest memories I have is the song "Walking on Sunshine" which we always listened and danced around her room to when we got ready to go out. She was the sunshine in so many people's lives and will remain in my heart as a friend who loved life and family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with Tony and the girls and the Filmons - she will be forever missed. Love and God Bless, Michelle Naka - Posted by: michelle naka (friend) on: Sep 26, 2013
