CAROL MARIE QUINN Carol Marie Quinn passed away peacefully at the MacGregor Personal Care Home on September 26, 2013 at the age of 90. Carol was born July 31, 1923 at Isabella, Manitoba. She received her education in Isabella before moving to Winnipeg as a young adult. She worked as a store clerk for a short time. Being adventurous, she joined the Navy during the Second World War and was eventually stationed in Scotland. Upon her return to Canada at the end of the war, she returned to Winnipeg and trained to be a hair dresser. She then moved to MacGregor, working for Ella Smith. Carol married Louis Quinn in 1949 and continued to do hair in her home while raising her family. She has resided in the MacGregor and District Care Centre since 2009. Carol is predeceased by her parents, husband, Louis and son-in-law Ed Barnhart. Carol will be sadly missed by her son, Glenn (Judy) of Chestermere, AB; her daughter, Betty Barnhart of Hay River, NWT; and granddaughters, Kelly (Scott) Riegert, Karen Quinn; grandson, Timothy (Shawna) Barnhart and great-grandchildren, Katie and Lucas Barnhart, and Hunter Riegert, all of Calgary, AB; brother, Ken (June) Clark of Brandon, MB, sister-in-law Joy Quinn of Calgary, AB as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carol's family wishes to thank the staff of the MacGregor and District Care Centre for taking such good care of her. The dedication of each and every member of the staff is truly appreciated. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Clarke's Funeral Chapel, MacGregor. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church in MacGregor with Rev. Mark Murray officiating. Interment to follow at the MacGregor Cemetery.
