RUTH (PARKIN) NOLAN 1921-2013 After a long full life, Ruth Nolan died peacefully at Middlechurch Personal Care Home on Thursday, September 26th. She worked at Eatons before getting married in 1942, and continued to work there part time right into her 60's. Ruth raised four children with the help of her husband, Joseph, who died in 1981. Also predeceasing her were her parents, Edward and Helen Parkin, sisters, Kay (Charter), Beth, Edith (Gyselman), a niece, Pat Charter, and many dear friends. Left to cherish Ruth's memory are her children Mary (John) Gottfried, Kathleen Nolan, Michael (Lorraine) Nolan and Chris (Ann) Nolan as well as eight grandchildren: Matthew (Leisa) Gottfried, Derrick (Dana) Gottfried, Laura (Jay) Cesmystruk, Carla (Brad) Enders, Amanda Nolan, Curtis Nolan, Patrick (Melanie) Nolan, Colleen (Chris) Dingwall, Edwin and Dennis Maina. Also, she leaves fourteen great- grandchildren: Leah, Adam and Nolan Gottfried, Hendrix Gottfried, Baylee, Abby, Jayne and Jack Cesmystruk, Jayden Enders, Chloe, Turk and Sage Dingwall and Maxwell and Hayden Nolan. Ruth was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, especially the Charter family. Ruth's life was centered around family, church and community. She gave much and received much. The last ten months of Ruth's life were joyfully spent at Middlechurch, where she was cared for with dignity, respect and unreserved kindness by staff and volunteers alike. Words fail to express the deep gratitude our family feels towards all of you. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 30th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, Munroe and Brazier, with viewing and visitation beforehand. Interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends so desiring may make a donation to Siloam Mission 300 Princess St. Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3 or a charity of choice. I remember the fun we all had at the lake when we would come for a visit. The twinkle in Auntie Ruth's eye and her great sense of humor always made her fun to be around. As did her wonderful baking from the blueberry pies to the rainbow cake she made me one year for my birthday. Those were some good times I won't forget. - Posted by: Judy Kamp (niece) on: Sep 29, 2013

Ruth was a good friend and a very caring person. As a child (Geraldine) I spent a lot of time at Auntie Ruth's when my Mom (Celine) was ill. We lost touch over the last 20 years but reconnected at Middlechurch. There were tears of joy when we discovered "Auntie Ruth" was living there. We will miss her. Our condolences to the family. - Posted by: Celine Skyhar and Geraldine (daughter) (Friend) on: Sep 28, 2013
