MARY ADELE HARRIS (KAISER)
Born: Apr 24, 1931
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ADELE HARRIS (nee KAISER) With remarkable dignity, Mary was released from her suffering on September 23 at the age of 82, following a brief but courageous struggle with cancer. Although left heartbroken by her loss, her family takes comfort in knowing she was guided on her next journey by so many loved ones who had gone before her. Mary entered this world on April 24, 1931, the seventh of ten children born to Louise and Michael Kaiser. While the family didn't have a lot of money, Mary and her brothers and sisters made invaluable lifetime memories together growing up in East Kildonan. Mom married the love of her life, Bruce Charles Harris, in June 1958 and shared many happy times together for nearly 40 years. A gifted cook and "scratch" baker, friends and family were always well-fed. No one left a gathering at mom and dad's house without a care package of homemade sausage, baking and her famous schtungels'. As dad always said, "Mary has the best buns". Everyone who met her would immediately be enveloped by her genuine warmth and caring. From family, friends and acquaintances, to neighbours young and old, everyone called her "Mary". She was generous to a fault and always, always saw the good in people. Mom was an avid curler and 10-pin bowler for many years, and remained a zealous hockey fan her entire life. Mary was predeceased by her parents and siblings Frank, John, Barbara, Carl, Florence, Kathryn and Margaret, and her husband Bruce. Treasuring her memory are Lori and Kelly, who will always remain so very proud to be Mary and Bruce's daughters. Mom is also survived by her brothers Joseph (Lorraine) of Kelowna, BC and Mickey (Maureen), her god-daughter Karen Gagnon (Paul, Bryce), as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the entire nursing staff of Ward 4B at St. Boniface Hospital; you are all truly angels of mercy. As per mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private reception will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name to one of the many local animal rescue shelters would be greatly appreciated. I am so very saddened to hear of the passing of your Mary. Kelly and Lori, I liked your Mom a lot; she always made me feel comfortable whenever I was at your house. Before my Mom passed away; if she bumped into your Mom while shopping, whenever she spoke to your Mom she always had pleasant things to tell us when she came home. She was such a beautiful person; always so kind to my sisters and I. Try and stay strong and remember all the beautiful memories <3 My condolences to the rest of the family as well. To Karen, Paul and Bryce, I know how close you were to your Auntie Mary and how difficult this is for you right now <3 Remember we are here and we Love you. Cherish the memories and hold them close to your heart. - Posted by: Lynn Krivak (Family friend) on: Sep 30, 2013

To Lori & Kelly We are saddened to hear about Mary's passing. We bowled with your mother & father many years ago on Friday evenings at Chateau Lanes and have a lot of fond memories of her. We were fortunate to receive some of her ceramics that she so kindly made for us. - Posted by: George & Dianne Watson (Bowling friend) on: Sep 28, 2013
