IRENE JULIE WERBENIUK January 8, 1925 - October 1, 2013 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Irene Julie Werbeniuk of Woodridge, MB at Bethesda Hospital on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Irene is survived by her children Morris (Elaine), Dean, Tracey; grandchildren Curtis, Chris (Kristen), Jordyn, Emily; great-granddaughter Lauklyn; sister Rita (Denis); brother Norman (Verna); sister-in-law Jeannine Werbeniuk and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Meroslaw (Russell) and sisters Leona (Chico) and Dolores. Irene was born in Woodridge, MB on January 8, 1925 to Delphine and George Harrison and lived there the majority of her life with the exception of a few years in St. Boniface when she was employed at Canada Packers. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a clerk at the Woodridge General Store and at Granny's Poultry, and spent many seasons as a tree planter with Natural Resources. We would like to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gumber and the nursing staff at Bethesda Hospital for their care and compassion. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the St. Alexander Church in Woodridge with Reverend Father Owen Steeves presiding. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
