• I was saddened to hear this news. Bob had an office next to mine at MHO and I really appreciated his sense of humour and humanity. I remember on a trip out to Brandon, we had to take the slow roads so that Bob could see if there were any neat trucks or cars for sale on the side of the roads as we drove by. • Bob was a mentor to me when I first started my career in labour relations. He loved to tease and keep the mood light & fun - something I learned to appreciate in terms of not taking myself so seriously - and sometimes I wanted to choke him but he had you in stitches before too long. I recall a union negotiations where he suddenly offered me up as a trade to the Operating Engineers (yes 42 guys across the table). I was mortified for a moment but it sure lightened the mood of negotiations which was Bob's gift. We caught up years later and still laughed about it. He could get under your skin at times but laugh the next minute. By reading other comments Bob was true to who he was and surrounded himself with people who appreciated his gifts. • So sorry to learn of Bob's passing. My deepest condolences to you Linda, and the rest of the family. I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Bob at MHO back in the days. Bob was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor and he knew just what to say at the right time when someone was down to lift their spirits. • Every time I think of Bob I smile. A true salesman, he often tried to sell me used cars that were always previously driven by a little old man or woman! • I was shocked and saddened to see Bob's obituary in the paper. I met Bob many years ago at MTS. We worked together and hung out together and I have many fond memories of that time. He got me into scuba diving through 3-Fathoms. Although I had not seen Bob for many years I often thought about him and thought about contacting him. I wish I had. R.I.P. • Linda and family. Our deepest sympathy to you, Linda, the light and love of Bob's life, and to the family. I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Bob in the Employee Relations Dept. at MHO as his secretary for a few years. After Bob left MHO to go to Comstock, we still remained in contact and when Peter Wightman took over as Executive Director of the CLRAM, we saw Bob quite often at our office and of course at our Annual Christmas Receptions. Bob was one of the best, hard working, funny, loving and compassionate. Always there to share some solid advice, some laughter and most of all his love for life. • Sorry for your loss, Linda. Bob was a good friend. I hired him to work at MHO and he was the best man at my wedding. I will always remember his smile and quick sense of humour. Sharon worked with him at the CLRAM and, in fact they were both hired at the same time. They ended up working together again at MHO. They had a relationship that could be more properly described as siblings than co-workers. • My deepest sympathies to Bob's entire family on his recent passing. I worked with Bob back in the early 90s at MHO. We spent MANY happy hours in Pointe du Bois at the cottage with you both: floating on our boats, swimming and having cocktail hour on our deck that Bob dreamed up, or enjoying an evening in the screened in porch at "Place du Glass." We often reminisce about those days - Bob's sense of humour and zest for life was contagious.
