Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA GARKAWS (LUKAWIECKA) December 10, 1927 October 5, 2013 Maria passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side at Holy Family Nursing Home. Maria is survived by her daughter Stephanie Matyja (Joseph Kunicki); granddaughter Halina Matyja (Brian Romanchuk); grandson Bobby Matyja and great-granddaughters Anastasia and Katerina. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1981. Maria was born in Czarnokoniecka Wola, Ukraine and emigrated to Poland in 1958 then to Canada in 1969. Thank you to Dr. Babick and all the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home on St. Mary's Wing. You are the angels that have helped Maria. God bless you all. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bannerman and Arlington. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
