ROBERT (BOB) SPARLING It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bob on October 5, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Esther Sparling. Bob will be missed by his wife of 56 years, Gisele (Dion), three sons: Donald (Heather), Terrance, and Paul (Roberta), grandchildren Meara, Samuel and Liam and sister Mary (George). Bob was born on August 14, 1934, was raised in Somerset, Manitoba, and moved to Winnipeg to start a 40 year long career at the Manitoba Telephone System. • Sympathy to the Sparling families at this time.. Leonard (Duff) Sparling and his wife Esther Sparling were close friends of my parents (Walter and Nellie Clemis) of Somerset for years and Robert (Bobby) taught many Somerset kids and me too!!!! how to skate and hold a hockey stick on the outdoor rink his dad and mine made in our front yard every year.. He won't be forgotten... - Posted by: Linda (Clemis) Ritchie (family friend) on: Oct 08, 2013

  • Bob Sparling was quite the man and manager who would make sure that if you were doing a good job - he would let you know in sometimes the most subtlest ways! There was never anything he would be afraid to tackle. RIP Bob Sparling! God Bless and deepest regrets to the Sparling families. - Posted by: Neil R Murray (MTS Employee) on: Oct 08, 2013
