LILLIAN MAY RUSSELL (nee GOULD) March 17, 1918 October 8, 2013 Lillian passed away peacefully at the Carman Memorial Hospital on October 8 with family members at her side. Left to cherish Lillian's life are her children: Ray (Marlene), Kay Ferris (Jack Nichol), Pat Makins, Marjorie (Roger Rigelhof), Glen, Bev Kippen, Blair (Deb), Don (Doreen), Craig (Janet) and Marilyn; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand-children; sister-in-law Trudy Svoboda and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harold, parents Frank and Carrie Gould, brothers Bill, Walter and Fred; daughter-in-law Marleen (Young) and sons-in-law, Jim Ferris, Frank Makins, Bill Ducharme, Barry Kippen, Art Scora and Don Bush. Lillian was born in Thornhill and moved with her parents to the Carman area in 1935. She and Harold were married in 1939 and lived in the Barnsley district until 1993 when they moved to Carman. She was a member of the Forest School ladies, a 4-H Leader and a life member of the Carman Kinettes and K-40 Clubs. She and Harold enjoyed camping, fishing and travelling the world; spending many winters in Arizona. Special thanks to Dr. Kruk and nursing staff for their kindness and caring. The Funeral Service was held Friday, October 11 at the Carman United Church with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, R0G 0J0 or to the CNIB, 1080 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3.
