WILLIAM JOHN ROBERTS Peacefully on October 9, 2013 Bill passed away at the Concordia Hospital following a short battle with cancer. He will be remembered by his wife Marie of 58 years; daughter Patricia (Mike) Bobko; son David (Terri-Lynn); granddaughters Kimberly and Heather; great-granddaughter Abby; brother Don (Audrey) of Winnipeg; sister Valorie (Elwood) Colbert of Leduc, Alberta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by his parents Tom (1970) and Frances (2004). Bill spent his entire life in Dugald. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma in Agriculture in 1947. He followed his grandfather and father into farming and continued what they started. He was a life member of the Springfield Agricultural Society and had been actively involved in the annual fair. After retirement, Bill and Marie became "snowbirds" and spent 11 winters in Mesa, AZ where they made many friends and enjoyed shuffling, golf and clubhouse activities. In honouring his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment has been held. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. Special thanks to Dr. Dennis Caners, Dr. Shawna Visch and the doctors and staff on 3 East at Concordia Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Bill and his family.
