Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRACE MARGARET COX It is with saddened hearts that our family announces the passing of Grace, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt on October 14, 2013 at the age of 87. Grace will forever be lovingly remembered by her brother Ed (Iris), sons Brian, Doug, Jim (Denise), and John; grandchildren Jed (Robyn), Sara (Corby), Chris (Lindsey), Jennifer (Jason), Caitlin (Lance) and Catherine (Matt); great-grandchildren Sadie, Madeline, Liam and William and many nieces, nephews and friends. Grace was predeceased by her husband Albert, parents William and Margaret, brothers Vern, George, Bruce and sister Amy. Grace was born in Winnipeg where she met and married Albert; together they raised their four sons in East Kildonan. Grace worked for many years in secretarial roles at Great West Life, Price Acme, and The Children's Hospital where she retired in 1983. After her retirement, she and Albert enjoyed many summers at their cabin at Barren Lake and winters in Maui. In her early years, Grace was a Girl Guide and Guide Captain. She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army, where she was a valued member of the Missionary Group, Bible study gatherings and volunteer activities within the church. Grace was an active member of her community and many clubs within East Kildonan including golf, bowling, curling and The Red Hat Society. Grace's family was precious to her; her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. On behalf of Grace and her family, we would like to thank the 7th floor staff at Beacon Hill Lodge Personal Care Home and Donwood Manor Personal Care Home. We will miss your wonderful smile, thoughtfulness and kind soul. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may choose to donate to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba. A service will be held on Monday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Loved her gentle ways, her smile and the fact that she and Al were a big part of my parents lives at the Winnipeg Citadel. I also remember babysitting for her when I was told that Henry was not to come over to help. She wanted to make sure I was really babysitting. A great lady! Grace had pizzazz, an amazing laugh and smile and a zip for life. A true lady with mischief on the side. When missionary group was at her house it always felt special and loads of fun and laughter. There are no words to express the profound sadness I felt on hearing of Grace's passing. Grace loved life and it showed in the way she lived it. Her wonderful smile and laugh ever present and her unfailing kindness to and understanding of others never waivered. Grace's family were her pride and joy. I loved her dearly, not only as an Aunt but also as a dear friend.
