BRICCIO (BIC) MONSANTO HENSON It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Briccio Henson. He left this world for a better place on October 10, 2013, at the age of 69 after a three week struggle following heart surgery. Briccio was predeceased by his brothers. Armando and Hector, as well as his sister Emy. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda of 41 years; son Glen; daughter Geralyn (Mo); grandchildren Myriam, Marcus and Julia; brothers Danny (Norma), Leo (Peewee) and Ronald; sisters Esmeralda and Julie; brothers-in-law Rey (Minda) and Jolly (Zeny); sisters-in-law Josephine, Nita (Jack) and Fely; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Briccio was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. He migrated to Canada in 1969 where he settled in Winnipeg and eventually met and married his wife Linda in 1972. Described as "a man of few words", Briccio enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and could often be seen playing cards and singing karaoke. He was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather; and a very loving, compassionate and honest man who will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and will profoundly be missed by all. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Unit 2 and 7, 5th floor. They would also like to extend special thanks to Dr. Singal, the nurses and various ICU staff at the I.H. Asper Institute, St. Boniface Hospital, for their valiant efforts, care and support. We would also like to express our gratitude to uncle Danny, auntie Norma, uncle Rey, auntie Minda and auntie Pining for their constant love and support during those three weeks in ICU. Viewing will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB, on Thursday, October 17, 2013, and Friday, October 18, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street, Winnipeg, MB. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, followed by a gathering of family and friends in the Glen Eden reception room. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 338-7111
