Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET HARVEY (nee FINLAYSON) Peacefully on October 14, 2013 at the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB, Margaret Harvey, aged 75 years of Grahamdale, MB passed away. Margaret was born on October 11, 1938 in Winnipeg, MB. She married Hugh Harvey and lived in Grahamdale where they raised their three children. Margaret was a wonderful mother and it was very evident by the love she showed her children and grandchildren. She loved music and taught us to sing. It was not uncommon for her to spontaneously turn on the music and have a dance in the middle of the living room with all of us. Mom was also very close with the Lord and taught all of us the importance of him in our lives as well. She worked for Dr. Steenson of Ashern, MB for many years and was a very active member of the Grahamdale United Church. Margaret took great pleasure in the company of her horse Buddy. Margaret was affectionately known by her brothers as "Mugs". Her brother Rod would refer to her as the 'Energizer Bunny" because of her spirited and happy outlook on life. Even when her health was failing her, she still maintained a positive spirit. During most of her illness, Margaret was at home under the care and comfort of Hugh. She spent the last nine years in the Lundar Personal Care Home. Margaret is survived by her husband Hugh; son Hugh and daughter Allison; grandchildren Hugh James (Jordan), Aftan (Eric), Meaghan (Emre), Chad (Hannah), Jade and Raggea; great-grandchildren Mylee and Emmett; brothers John (Phyllis), Ken (Janice) and Rod (Dianne); sisters Marlene (Ross) and Lynn (Frank); sister-in-law Linda Swanson along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Catherine, brother Gary, parents Jack and Agnes Finlayson, son-in-law Robert Staff and a very special friend who will always be missed Rodney Thomas Hopgood. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Grahamdale United Church with Pastor Mike Andrews officiating. Interment to follow in Grahamdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Finlayson, Ken Finlayson, Rod Finlayson, Hugh James Harvey, Chad Staff and Scott Finlayson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, CE501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada R3A 1S1. Special thanks to all the staff of the Lundar Personal Care Home for the wonderful care given to mom. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593

I remember Margaret very well from the time we both attended a country school in Manitoba. She stayed with her aunt, Lillian Deighton and quite often took me home for lunch. I had lost track of her over the years, but I believe that she still kept in touch with my Mom. Margaret was indeed a joyous person, and had no qualms about telling the bigger boys to get lost when they got too bossy. The world could use more Margaret’s. - Posted by: Donna Shears (nee Swain) (Friend) on: Mar 20, 2022
