Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANICE GALE NAGAZINE Janice Gale Nagazine, CMA, passed away peacefully at age 61 after a brief illness, on October 17, 2013, in Winnipeg where she had resided all her life. She leaves to remember her lovingly her mother Edith Fisher; her sister Judy Murphy; and her brother Jeff Nagazine; sister-in-law Gerry Nagazine; and two nephews, Jake and Jesse. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ken Cancilla; her loving dad, Amyl Nagazine; and her cherished cat companions, including Mickey and Quincy. Having attained her Certified Management Accountant designation in 1981, Janice built her career as a financial manager and leader in industry, rising to the post of Controller at Boeing Canada in 1989. In 2004, she put her many skills to work for the improvement of women's health across Canada as Finance Officer for the Canadian Women's Health Network, retiring in 2012. Janice also contributed her knowledge to her community. She was active in professional organizations, including serving on the Professional Development Committee of The Society of Management Accountants, as Chairman of the CMA Winnipeg Chapter and Secretary of CMA Toastmasters. She was a Finance Volunteer at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, served on the Board of Directors of the Fort Garry Women's Resource Centre as well as giving her time and talents to many non-for-profit organizations. She enjoyed spending evenings with family and friends playing board and card games. She was also an avid puzzle solver. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and care. A celebration of Janice's life will be held on Tuesday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). If desired, memorial donations may be made to one of her favourite charities: The Canadian Women's Health Network; the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Cancer Care Manitoba at St. Boniface Hospital. I was very sorry to read of Janice's passing. She and I graduated from the CMA program at the same time and served on the board together. I still remember that it was our responsibility to cancel the graduation dinner and dance one year due to an early November snow storm.
