LORETA MARIA SACCO (nee MANCINI) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Loreta Maria Sacco (née Mancini), after a brief and courageous battle with cancer on October 20, 2013. Loreta leaves to mourn her husband of 43 years Domenico Sacco, daughters Rosa Bovino (Mario), Dalida Cesario (Maurizio) and son, Antonio. She also leaves behind her grand-children Bianca and Tiana Bovino, Mario and Marissa Cesario who were her loves, treasures and strengths of her life. Her siblings, Urbano Mancini (Filomena), Antonietta Mancinelli (Elio), Ida Ruffilli (Sebastiano) of Italy, Benito Mancini (Tommasina), Loreto Mancini (Angela). Sister-in-law, Angelina Mancini also of Italy. Brothers-in-law Giuseppe Sacco, Battista Sacco, Sisters-in-law, Teresina Sacco, Ida Costanzo (Italy) and Antonietta Frasca (Italy) and many nieces and nephews. Loreta was predeceased by her parents Vincenzo and Dalida Assunta Mancini. Parents- in-law Antonio and Rosa Sacco, granddaughter Eleyna Cesario, brother Vittorio Mancini, brothers-in-law, Matteo Moraca, Luigino Sacco, Luigi Costanzo, Giovanni Frasca; sisters-in-law Giuseppina Moraca, Domenica Sacco, and Maria Luisa Sacco. Loreta was born on September 8, 1951 in VillaLago, L'Aquila, Italy. She immigrated to Canada on December 18, 1970 and married the love of her life Domenico on February 13, 1971. She went on to have three beautiful children and was blessed with wonderful grandchildren. Loreta was a simple and caring person. She was happy to have friends and family around her. She was a terrific cook, loved entertaining, and took pleasure in sharing her tasty dishes with everyone. Loreta dedicated her life to her family, making sure they were taken care of and that they were safe, healthy and happy. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all of Loreta's doctors, nurses and home care staff who treated her with such great respect, showed love and support and to all those that made her comfortable. A special thanks to all of Loreta's friends and family who visited with her frequently throughout her battle. Funeral will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Avenue. Condolences will be accepted at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be Antonio Sacco (Giuseppe), Gino Sacco, Battista Sacco, Michael Mancini, Carmine Fiorillo and Michele Venusio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Children's wish Foundation. 204-586-8044

I have very fond memories of being welcomed into the Sacco family as a child and teenager. Ma was loving, kind, and extremely generous. I spent a lot of time in the Sacco house in my late teens and early 20's. Maria was so welcoming and generous with her space and cooking talents. She put up with our shenanigans and kept us well fueled for our adventures. She also introduced me to real Italian cooking. All good memories.
