EDWARD (ED) CHARLES SCHWARTZ 1939 - 2013 After a courageous battle with cancer, Ed passed away at the age of 73 at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on October 18, 2013. Edward was born in Winnipeg on November 24, 1939 to Augusta (Werner) and George Schwartz; German immigrants from Russia. Ed was married on June 25, 1960 to Mary-Ann Bingham and together they raised four children and five grandchildren. Edward is survived by his treasured wife Mary-Ann, his four children Lee-Anne (Eugene Gobeil), Timothy (Kathy Dahlin), Lynley (Jonathan Ellison) and Todd (Sarah Desrochers). He has five adoring grandchildren, Keith and Laura Ellison, Andrew and Daniel Schwartz, and Evan Schwartz. He is also survived by two brothers, Howard (Lettie) and Bob, and his sister-in-law, Helen (Lenchuk). Ed worked as an electrician for 40+ years, and provided exceptional service for many businesses in the greater Winnipeg area. He was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, the German Society of Winnipeg, and was the secretary of the St. John's Commercial 10 pin bowling league for many years. Ed loved fishing and his time at the cottage at Betula Lake with family and friends. He had a keen interest in genealogy and was dedicated to his family. Ed will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his lightheartedness and compassion. Ed was always singing. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 401 Kildare Avenue at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013. Ed has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 (cancercarefdn.mb.ca). "We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day." Keep singing Dad NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
