CHRISTINE AARTS
Date of Passing: Oct 21, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINE AARTS It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our Oma Christine Aarts had suddenly passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Frank C. Aarts, Christine is survived by her four children William, Michael, Adele, and Kenneth, her grandchildren Thomas, Johnathon, Melissa, Christina, Michelle, and Brittany, as well as her great-grandchildren. Christine had immigrated to Canada in 1953 from the Netherlands, where she married Frank and raised her family in Winnipeg. Christine loved spending time with her family and later working at the Fred Douglas Lodge. For her last 15 years, her days revolved around caring, cooking, and trying to make Frank as comfortable as possible once his health deteriorated. In between these tasks, she faithfully attended and participated in swimming and exercise classes at the Wellness Institute where she was well known for the constant supply of knitted hats that she made to donate for cancer patients. Once deteriorating eyesight made knitting hats unable to meet her standards, she switched to baking muffins to share with those in need. Her warm kind heart will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to thank the Middlechurch Personal Care Home staff and residents for taking such good care of Christine over the past six and a half months. A private memorial has taken place. In lieu flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba are much appreciated. Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044

Christine and Frank were a very important part of our lives growing up. There was many a shared Sunday dinner enjoyed with plenty of laughter. Your Mother was an angel here on earth and we think of your parents very often. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Dorothy Zelinsky nee Kuypers (family friend) on: Oct 27, 2013

I have known Christine since I was 12 years old. We met through my Aunt Cathy who knew Frank and Christine very well. I had the privilege of being junior bridesmaid at their wedding and Joe and I later were chosen to be Godparents for their youngest son, Ken. Both Christine and Frank were an integral part of our family for many, many years. In the last number of years, Christine and I both attended excercise sessions at the Wellness Center. She was always the social butterfly there and was quite often seen surrounded by other members. I still have some of her wonderful knitted dishcloths, which I will treasure always. We will miss her, but know that she is in Heaven with her Beloved Frank and other "Special Angel". Rest in Peace. I liked Oma and she was the only Oma I ever knew. She made the best apple sauce and I never would have known the joy of chocolate sprinkles on a nice buttered bun if not for her. The world lost a fine lady. - Posted by: Dawn Hinchliffe () on: Oct 27, 2013
