Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD HENRY HAMILTON December 28, 1931 - October 22, 2013 It is with much sadness the family announces the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather. Gerald passed away on October 22, 2013 at Riverview Health Center after an eight month battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years Margaret, children Tracy, Kevin (Kessie), Tammy (Rob), Kelby (Jen), seven wonderful grandchildren, brother Larry (Janet), sister Dorothy (Paul), sister-in-law Edie, brother-in-law Wally (Joanne) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Gerald was predeceased by his parents Russell and Dorothy, brothers Lloyd and Ivan, sisters Doris and Jean and granddaughter Kendra. Gerald's career spanned 38 years, 28 in the Canadian Armed Forces and 10 working as a Mines Inspector for the Province of Manitoba. Gerald's interests included the genealogy of his and Margaret's families, gardening, coin collecting and collecting antique jars, bottles, crocks and lamps. He very much enjoyed watching TV and passing time on his computer. Gerald was a man of strong character and of few words. He was proud of his family and loved any time he could spend with them. His passing will leave a void in all of our hearts. Special thanks to Dr. Kotecha, Dr. Houston, Nurse Barb and all the caring staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Riverview Health Center. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Good Shepard, 17 Wing, Building 94, Whytewold Road and Silver Avenue, Winnipeg on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
