DOLORES ANN FRIESEN Dolores Ann Friesen, aged 67, died on October 24, 2013 at Tuxedo Villa after a long illness. She leaves to mourn and will be greatly missed by her loving husband Herb of 33 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Gilbert (Roberta) Barber of Edmonton, Alberta, Ernie (Pat) Barber of Winnipeg, and her many nieces and nephews, numerous friends and acquaintances. Dolores was predeceased by her sister Lola Joyce and her parents Gilbert and Lillian Barber. She was born on October 2, 1946. After she married Herb, they were planning on having a family, which was never meant to be as she miscarried twice, and shortly thereafter started having health problems. Dolores was diagnosed 12 years ago, when a Dr. ordered a DNA test on her at Health Sciences Centre, that the test came back positive for Huntington's Disease. Despite her many health trials, she had a very positive attitude, never worried about anything, and would always give you a beautiful smile. She even had her own hair salon for about six years. She was very artistic, attended art classes, loved interior decorating and she enjoyed making dried flower arrangements. She loved animals, especially cats. She was deeply saddened when her cat, Snuggles, died after 14 years. The family wish to extend their gratitude to the staff at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, specifically Station 1, where she resided for the last eight years. The funeral service will take place at Grace Christian Church, 50 Barnes Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. Interment at a later date in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
