CHARLES FRED PRESCOTT 1920 - 2013 The family of Charles Fred Prescott are saddened to announce the passing of our dear Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the age of 93. Fred has joined his beloved wife Dorothy in heaven, now together forever. He is survived by his son Tom (Janet) Prescott, daughters Noreen Christie (Dave) and Catherine Prescott and by his much loved Grandchildren Jenny Christie Katz (Eric), Curtis Christie, Ian Prescott, Susan Prescott; Great-Grandchildren Kole and James Prescott, Matthew Katz, Alex, Jack and Jordyn Christie and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Minnie Prescott, three brothers and six sisters. Born June 3, 1920 in Oxford, England, Fred served in the RAF during the Second World War. While training in Carberry, Manitoba he met the love of his life Dorothy Sharp. Fred and Dorothy raised their family in the St. James area of Winnipeg where they celebrated 51 years of marriage. Fred, known to some as Charles, loved camping with the Manitoba Goldeyes RV trailer club, bowling, playing darts, cribbage and his garden. He was also known to be up at the crack of dawn to go to his favourite fishing spots, often with his children and grandchildren, teaching them to fish. Fred continued to enjoy British wit by keeping up with his favorite British TV shows such as Last of the Summer Wine. Fred was able to stay in his St. James home due to the dedication and support of his daughter Cathy until 2011. The family would like to thank the staff of Kildonan Long Term Care for their kindness and care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 31 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, across from Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. "Dad, you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. We love and miss you dearly every second of every minute of every day."
