Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN DAVID NIKKEL It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the unfortunate passing of John David Nikkel on October 28, 2013, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 64 years. David is survived by his loving wife Priscilla; children Matt and Davita; his son Davis; mother Doris; siblings Joy (Brian) Stevens, Allison James, Norman (Solange), Harvey (Jane), Philip (Monique), Stuart (Theresa), Gloria (Bruce) Cook, numerous nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his father John in 1981. David was the eldest of his siblings. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and anything to do with outdoors. He has hunted over 30 countries worldwide, was an excellent marksman and has won many awards in this field. Dave often said that he wished he was born in the 1800s in the Wild West. He was a charismatic individual and well respected by anyone that knew him. Dave had a saying: "I would rather die on my feet than to continue living on my knees" Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Clarkleigh Cemetery, Clarkleigh, Manitoba at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
