NORMA JEANNINE LAWRENCE (nee WEIR) November 2, 1928 - October 26, 2013 In the comfort of her home, Norma passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 26, 2013. Norma was the only child of Howard Mounsey Weir and Christabelle (Babe) Weir (nee Johnson). In March of 2012, she was predeceased by Clifford George Lawrence, her husband of 62 years. Norma is survived by her three children Valerie (Luigi) Fasoli, Mark (Shawneen), and Melanie (Kenneth) Shumilak; and by her 10 grandchildren Robert (Debbie), Matthew (Corrina), Christopher (Jessica), and Adam (Milana) Fasoli; Paul (Stacy), Zee and Taylor Lawrence and their mother Darlene Young; Jessica (Tyler) Bullen, Kaitlyn (Noel) and Jeannine Shumilak; and by six great-grandchildren. Norma was born in Winnipeg, moving all around the province as the only child of an RCMP officer. She worked as a comptometer operator at The Canadian Wheat Board, and later as a proprietor of our family operation, Lake Haven Motel in Grand Marais. She loved her home and her cat Tippy, sing-songs around the piano, and especially loved her summers at the lake. The best times were gathered around the fire at the cottage, under the Christmas Lights, enjoying "a cold one" with family and friends. Donations, if desired, may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Funeral arrangements will take place on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). A truly original, amusing, fun-loving, and often totally confusing person. Norma lived her life exactly as she saw fit, right to fullest. I will truly miss her, as I do my own parents. My deepest sympathies go out to all your family, Melanie, Valerie and Mark. Norma was loved, will be missed, but never forgotten. Valerie, Luigi, Melanie & families, May happy memories carry you through at this sad time. We have such fond memories of your mom when she visited Alberta. That twinkle in her eye could only mean laughter was in her heart. Thinking about you all. Regards, Glen & Janice Culp Irricana, AB - Posted by: Glen & Janice Culp (Friends) on: Oct 31, 2013

We enjoyed playing lawn darts with Norma and Cliff for 20 years at the lake. They were great neighbours and Norma was a welcomed visitor at my mother's cottage. She will be missed. - Posted by: Joan and Ken Einarson (Friends and Grand Marais Neighbours) on: Oct 30, 2013
