ELEANOR SMAHA (CONN) November 16, 1940 - October 27, 2013 We are sad to announce the quick and peaceful passing of our mother, companion, aunt, and friend. She was predeceased by her sister Ruth Neal, mother Anne, and father James. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Gerald Leftrook, daughters Sandra (Grant) and Leslie (Patrick), friends Andy and Keitha, grand-cats Rosey and Tigerlily, her niece, nephews, and their families, and all the special friends she made throughout the years. Mom was a people person. Everyone she met was drawn to her magnetic personality. She loved family get-togethers, old black and white movies, reading biographies, Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, shopping for bargains, going to the horse races and anything to do with dancing! Our sincerest gratitude goes out to all the hospital staff on the 3rd floor of the Concordia Hospital for caring for mom and keeping her comfortable. As per mom's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Donations can be made in her name to CancerCare Manitoba, and always remember to tell your mother you love her! 204-586-8044

  • Hi Mom One of my favorite memories was the scent of cheeseburgers and french fries cooking while I was sitting on the front stairs of our duplex. I am going to miss our phone calls where we would talk about old black and white movies and when we would get our fits of laughter going where our stomachs would hurt. Whenever I don't feel well I'll grab my blue blanket. Grant and I miss you snd LOVE YOU very much. Rosey and Tigerlily also miss their favorite babysitter and Grandma. God is with you. We will meet you later Mom. - Posted by: Sandra (Daughter) on: Nov 02, 2013
