Condolences & Memories (15 entries)

  • Everyone will miss Harry's instant smile and happy joking nature. He always made me glad to see him as I was walking by and got a greeting in the "village". So sorry to hear of your loss. - Posted by: Jill Paskewitz (Clement) (Friend) on: Nov 16, 2013

  • I worked with Harry at Air Canada for 11 years. He was quite a salesman with his ticket sales and refreshments, even with the stutter! He always made sure you had your Grey Cup tickets and supported draws for the Legion. The brew is in the trunk and the keys are in the gas cap door he always said. One of the nicest guys i knew on the base. R.I.P Lotto Harry - Posted by: Tom Gross (Co - worker and friend) on: Nov 07, 2013

  • Sandra and Mrs. Smith, Sorry to hear of the passing of your dad Sandra. Mom told me late last night so I didn't have enough time to plan for the funeral. It would have been nice to see you and your mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Job's Daughters seems like ages ago but I have good memories of the time I spent with you and your family. Take care. - Posted by: Diane Westman (Friend) on: Nov 07, 2013

  • We have known Harry since 1983. Harry, Alice, Kevin, Brad and Sandra lived next door to us on Berkley Street. When I moved in next door from England, Harry came over and introduced himself to myself and Anne. Well Harry and I hit it off because he was part English and Scottish I believe. At Christmas time Harry would come over and bring his famous ''spirits'' for a drink or two!!! Harry was well known in Charleswood and always laughing and telling me the odd joke which made me laugh!!! In 1996 Harry told me he was retiring from Air Canada and leaving to his retirement home in Grand Maraus he put his house for sale and I last saw Harry in 2008 when he came by and said Hello once again with Alice. Charleswood has missed a great person in Harry Smith. My condolences go out to Alice, Kevin, Brad and Sandra and all those who knew him. He shall be missed by many. RIP Harry. - Posted by: Joseph & Anne Halyckyj (Friend and neighbors in Charleswood) on: Nov 06, 2013
