Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMELVIN (MEL) NESTER 1928 - 2013 Mel passed away peacefully on November 4, 2013 at Grace Hospice at the age of 85 years. Mel is survived by his wife Sylvia of 53 years of marriage; sisters Margaret Chemerika and Adeline Fuchs; brother Clifford; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Len and Hilda Prawdzik, sisters-in-law Karren Foster, and Linda Washington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mel was predeceased by parents Mike and Annie Nester; brothers Bill, Norman and Glen; brothers-in-law Ernie Fuchs and Mike Chemerika; nephew Douglas Haarsma, Olga and Frank Zygmond; as well as mother and father-in-law Jacob and Mary Weselowski. Mel worked for Manitoba Hydro for over forty years, retiring in 1991. Thank you to Dr. Hartey, nurses and staff at Grace Hospice for the great care Mel received and doctors, nurses and staff at Victoria Hospital. No flowers, please. Dear Auntie Sylvia, Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of Uncle Mel. I have some great memories of Uncle Mel, he was a real joker and played many tricks on Rob and I that we still laugh about today. I also have fond memories of eating hot rod ends by the bagfuls when we visited. We are living in Calgary now, so I'm sorry we won't be able to make it to his service.
