JEAN ELIZABETH SPRINGETT (JEANNIE) Sadly, Jeannie passed on October 30, 2013, at the young age of 59. Jeannie's life journey was remarkable and memorable. She was a bright, adventurous, loving, caring, beautiful woman who lived her life to the fullest. Jeannie pursued her love of travel and adventure by living on a kibbutz in Israel for six months when she reached adulthood. Eventually she pursued the perfect career choice as a flight attendant and worked for British Caledonian. She also worked in Libya and Saudi Arabia, presenting quite a contrast, as a hazel-eyed, fair haired woman. After many years of living "overseas", Jeannie returned to Canada and eventually commenced her career with Air Canada. She continued flying until 2008. Jeannie's marriage to Barry blessed them with two sons, Jordan and Matteo. She was a loving, caring, proud mom committed to every aspect of her boys' lives. Jeannie became involved as a volunteer in their elementary school and, through scrapbooking, chronicled every aspect of her boys' academic, athletic and extra-curricular achievements. Jeannie loved to learn. She took many university courses, attending as a mature student. Her academic interests and pursuits were varied as evidenced by her taking courses in psychology, history, art and languages. Jeannie was fluent in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and could communicate in various other languages. Jeannie was a voracious reader and a member of several book clubs. She supported the arts, attending as a perennial season ticket holder the MTC plays, the WSO, ballet and Jewish theatre. Jeannie's love of art attracted her to art galleries not only in Winnipeg, but also Paris, London and Rome, to name just a few. She became close friends with many local artists, displaying their works in her home. Jeannie was a dog lover and, at her passing, left four rescue dogs: Peanut, Trooper, Oreo, and Ranger. Jeannie supported many animal charities and she and her family were supporters of World Vision, funding several children through the years. Jeannie continued with her travel adventures, traveling to South Africa, New Zealand, Asia, Thailand, Cuba, Morocco, Turkey, Spain, Russia, Poland and many other countries over the years. She educated herself about each country's history and culture so she could appreciate each travel experience all the more. She also traveled to Spain to teach English. Jeannie had scores of close friends who were attracted by her intellect, wit, humour, her loyalty and giving, caring, considerate nature. In short, Jeannie was a Renaissance Woman, whose untimely passing will be deeply mourned. Jeannie touched and impacted so many lives and she will be affectionately remembered forever by her family and friends. A memorial service was held on November 6, 2013, at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Jeannie's family appreciates the hundreds of friends who attended the memorial service and those who posted words of condolences on the website. Special thanks are extended to Len Udow who officiated the service and Barbara Bilodeau, Jannette Slack, Linda Meckling, Robyn Kilgour, Kevin Steinberg, and Jeannie's two sons, who all offered moving eulogies, and to Angus MacLennan, bagpiper. The family appreciated the care and guidance of the staff of Cropo, and the many friends and family in supporting Barry, Jordan, and Matteo during the sad and difficult times. In memory of Jeannie, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, SNIP, the Siloam Mission, and the Arthritis Society. Love you Forever Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044

My Husband and I had the honor of being Guests at Jeanie and Barry's home this past August. In our short time there, they both did all they could, to make us feel welcomed and cared for. We shared wonderful times together. I am still in shock that our beautiful, Lady of class, is gone. I am so very saddened. I will Never forget Jeanie, and I do believe I will see her again, when I also, go to Heaven. - Posted by: Debra Jones (Friend) on: Nov 11, 2013

To the family and friends of Jeannie, sincere condolences on the loss of this beautiful and classy Lady. She was always a joy to work with, and added so much enjoyment to every situation she was involved with.
