DORIS EMMLINE ANDERSON January 15, 1929 !November 7, 2013 Our sister and aunt passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on November 7, 2013, at Red River Place, in Selkirk, MB. Doris was predeceased by her parents William and Alice Anderson; sisters Ruth and Verna; brothers Arnold and Raymond; sister-in-law Lorena; brothers-in-law Peter Yusishen, Harry Recksiedler, Don Rudolph and Richard Wonnacott. She is survived by two sisters Hazel and Shirley; one brother William (Ileen); sister-in-law Elsie and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was born in the Grand Marais area, and grew up in various Manitoba towns, as her father worked for C.N.R railroad. Doris was the operator of Doris' Grocery in Grand Marais. She welcomed the people that came for the summer to Grand Beach. She loved children and taught Sunday School to her nieces and nephews as well as other Grand Marais children for many years. After retirement she moved to Selkirk and finally Red River Place. Doris was an avid reader. She loved to knit, crochet and cook. Her family were often invited for a home cooked meal. She loved visiting and helping her family and old friends. Doris had a good heart and was a very generous lady. The family wish to extend heartfelt gratitude to the very special staff at Red River Place for their excellent care of Doris. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alex Cross officiating. Interment will follow in the Balsam Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make a donation to a charity of their choice. Her pallbearers will be her nephews and niece, Brent Anderson, David Anderson, Cory Anderson, Joyce Bowler, Don Rudolph and George Wonnacott.   • First memories of Doris' Grocery was sunday school, playing with my yoyo when I should have been listening and getting in trouble most everytime I went with the Anderson, Wonnacott and Linklater kids egging me on. Always mom made sure I had enough to get my favorite rainbow ice cream after. Later memories was if I needed it when out there, Doris' grocery had it.
