A celebration of his life will be held at Holy Cross Parish, 252 Dubuc Street on Friday, November 15 at 1:00 p.m. A complete obituary will follow in Wednesday's edition. Mr. Stangl, as I respectfully called him, was a man of generosity who served the Residents of St. Joseph's Residence for many years. He was a gentle man but was well known and well respected. Once he stepped down as the Chair of the Friend's Board of Directors, I believe that no other member of the Friend's Board would ever measure up to his enthusiastic participation in ensuring that the residents of St. Joseph's were provided with as many of the extra comforts as could be provided by this man's hard work. Mr. Stangl's devotion was beyond reproach. God has gently taken him to a better place and reunited him with his beloved wife. May he rest in peace.
