Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY GMITEREK 1924 - 2013 Peacefully, after one last family gathering, in comfort, our father and grandfather left us to meet his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Dad leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 63 years, Jean Gmiterek (nee Kryschuk), his daughter Sharon Dugard (late Mark), and son Randy Gmiterek (Laura), his four grandsons, who were his pride and joy, Aaron Dugard (Breanne), Nathan Dugard, Nicholas Gmiterek and Jesse Gmiterek. He also leaves his siblings Joseph Gmiterek (Olga) and Helen Fandych, along with many family and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Carolyn Gmiterek. He also, once again, is in the company of his predeceased sisters and brothers: Kay Novak, Mary Moore (Frank), Mike Gmiterek (Mary), Jean Novak (Mike), Anton Gmiterek (Nellie), John Gmiterek, Rose Duma (Joe), Edward Gmiterek, brother-in-law Bill Fandych, and his guardian angel and son-in-law Mark Dugard. Dad was born on March 5, 1924 in Allegra, MB. In the earlier years he worked in the bush camps while also remaining on the family farm. On November 11, 1950, Stosh married the love of his life Jean Kryschuk. Besides his great love for the farm, Dad worked for Agassiz School Division for 23 years as a bus driver. He spent the first 58 years of his life on the family homestead. Later he moved only a few miles down the road and continued to lend his hand on the family farm. Dad and mom went on many vacations throughout their life, leaving us with many photos of remembrance. His greatest gift was to entertain family, friends and all that walked into his life. He provided all with his gift of laughter and leaves us with an infinite number of memories to share. Prayers will be said on Friday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 516 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow in the St. Mary Parish Cemetery, Beausejour. We would like to express a very special and heartfelt thank you to the staff of East Gate Lodge and Dr. Van Rensburg for their exceptional care. Together, you are all truly beautiful angels. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Open Doorways Orphanage, Box 405, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0. Stosh was a kind man with a unique laugh. I can recall the times Stosh and my dad John, both bus drivers, would get together. They complained about their bus routes and laughed at the kids and what they tried to do. Of course a couple shots of rye didn't hurt! Our sympathies to the entire family. God Bless. - Posted by: Don & Bonny Hutniak (Friends) on: Nov 22, 2013
