RUBY IDA STRATTON (nee TUMBER) April 2, 1930 - November 20, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruby Ida Stratton (nee Tumber) on November 20, 2013 at the Stonewall and District Health Centre, surrounded by her loving family. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1998, brother Fredrick, sister Esther, and her grandson Paul Cameron. Mom is survived by her children Lee (Ron), Cheryl (Barry), Graham (Brenda), Kim, Lorrie (Dennis), Glenn (Deb), 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and her sister Eileen (Phil) Thomas and their family. Mom was born April 2, 1930 in Ashern, MB to Peggy and Fredrick Tumber. Mom met Dad at the St. James Bowling Alley. After they were married they raised their family for the past 53 years in the house they built in Stony Mountain. Throughout her life Mom worked at Eaton's, Nutty Club Candy Company and Loblaws until her retirement in 1990. Mom was very proud of her home and spent many hours working in her yard. Mom enjoyed spending time with her family, bingo, bowling, trips to the casino, yahtzee and playing cards. During that time she made many lasting friendships. The family would like to thank Dr. Venter, the Nursing staff and Homecare for all their compassionate care over the years. • My sympathies to all Ruby's family. The loss of a mother is always hard. I didn't know her very well as she was sixteen years older than me and was gone from home by the time I remember visiting Aunt Peg and Uncle Fred. - Posted by: Dianne Cote (Cousin) on: Nov 23, 2013
