MARGARET RICHMOND Peacefully, on November 17, 2013 Margaret May Richmond passed away with her loving sister by her side at St. Boniface Hospital. Services will be on Sunday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, 170 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, MB, with Wayne Turner presiding. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Dean Richmond, her father, Robert Banks and her mother, Mary Banks (Graham) of Scotland. Margaret is survived by two sons, David and Mark Richmond (USA), one daughter Torrie Richmond and one sister, Charlotte Banks of Winnipeg and five grandchildren: Ryan Brennon Richmond, Steven Richmond, Atticus Richmond, Gemma Richmond and Beckham Richmond, and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was born in Toronto on May 4, 1934. She graduated from Toronto General Hospital nursing school in 1959 and soon after married Jerry. Living in California, Margaret enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a coronary critical care nurse at San Fernando Valley and Thousand Oaks hospitals. In 1980 the family relocated to Marlow, Oklahoma where Margaret again applied her RN skills at Duncan Regional Hospital. After Jerry's death Margaret returned to her home country of Canada to be close to her sister and brother-in-law, Donald Banks, in Winnipeg. Continuing her career in nursing, Margaret joined the staff of Victoria Hospital where she retired in 1999. Throughout her life, Margaret maintained a consistent and wonderful relationship with her Lord and fellow parishioners by attending and being active in the Church Of Christ. Margaret was a member of OES, Queen Winnipeg Chapter, a member of Toronto General Hospital alumni, and sponsored children through World Vision. Margaret was loved dearly by her family and those who knew her. She was a kind soul and will be greatly missed. We love you, rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association; Central Church of Christ, Winnipeg, Manitoba, or the charity of your choice.
