DAWN LITTLE
Born: Jul 20, 1937
Date of Passing: Nov 14, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAWN LITTLE Dawn Little passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Dawn grew up near the town of Gray, Saskatchewan and was born on July 20, 1937. She eventually relocated to Winnipeg and successfully raised two young boys on her own. Dawn, a consummate professional and supporter of female entrepreneurship, had successfully run her own business - Little Office Services for over 25 years. Dawn was also one of the founders of the Women Business Owners of Manitoba. Her success came from a strong work ethic that she received growing up on her Families Century Farm in Saskatchewan, which she helped run with her son Patrick Little until her last days. Dawn also raised horses from a young girl. Later, Dawn began to professionally ride and show horses, and finally marrying the two passions of business and horses created a carriage service. Throughout the years, Dawn's horses and carriage service could be seen in parades and weddings across the Prairies. Family, above all, is what she prized the most and went to great lengths to protect. For that we will forever be grateful. Dawn is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Morris and Anne Husband and by her son Patrick Little. She is survived by her son Allan (Jan) Little and grandchildren Denise (Leigh) Manikel, Shaun (Lena) Little, and Krista (Danny) Little, and great-grandchild Brock Manikel. In respect of Dawn's wishes, no funeral services will be held. A memorial page has been created for her on Facebook. Search "In memory of Dawn Little". In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB. Denise, thanks for sharing with me. No doubt tough news for you and your family. May you find small blessings and be encouraged over the Christmas season. Definitely a surprise for me. He an oddity for me driving by the Husband/Little farm knowing there would be no one to visit. Good friends will be definitely missed. - Posted by: Carman Ganshorn (Friend) on: Dec 23, 2013

Dawn and her family were great neighbors, we had lots of laughs and became good friends. I am shocked to hear of her passing and hope she is at peace. - Posted by: Sharel Miller (ex-neighbor) on: Dec 05, 2013

Great memories of Dawn and Stan, her parents and her boys. We did all kinds of events with Dawn on Misty and myself driving D.J. with Stan providing back up. Remember good times at Cooks Creek. Goodbye to a good friend. - Posted by: Paul duBourg (friend) on: Nov 26, 2013

We were greatly saddened to learn of Dawn's passing last week. Although growing up in Iowa and passing an adulthood in the east has meant we have had only occasional chances to visit with Dawn over the years, I was always impressed by her acumen and determination, characteristics that served her well in business. I know this must have been a stressful year for her and for the whole family, and such a sudden departure cannot be easy for anyone. On the other hand, Dawn always struck me as having a fiercely independent frame of mind, and I'm sure she would have no patience with a long illness. We will miss her, and we send all our prayers for her and the extended Husband and Little family at this very difficult time. We love the photo of Dawn on horseback - it reflects such happy memories of life on the farm. Love, the Ashford family of Washington, DC - Posted by: Jeff Ashford (First cousin) on: Nov 24, 2013

Dawn was a good friend and neighbour. We lived next to her and her family on Hammond Road for 5 years. We send our condolences to Allan and the rest of the family. - Posted by: Doreen & Russell Rosen () on: Nov 24, 2013
