Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN DOROZ September 29, 1915 - November 24, 2013 Peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2013, Stephen Doroz passed away in his sleep, at the age of 98, at Deer Lodge Centre T7 veteran's ward. He was predeceased by his wife Anne in 2012, his brother William, and sister Anne. Steve leaves behind his children Carol, Bob (Eileen), and Dianna (Bill), grandchildren Melanie (Corey), Billy (Melody), and great-granddaughter Celecia. Steve was a veteran of the Second World War and was proud to have served his country. He enjoyed boxing and did so as a middle weight prior to and during his time in service. Steve took early retirement from the post office at age 62, which gave him time to enjoy family and friends, and pursue his interests. He attended Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church and volunteered with the church perogy-making group. Steve played the accordion and enjoyed dancing, especially the polka. He was an avid cook, checker player, gardener, photographer and took art lessons from his son in his retirement with great enjoyment. Right up to the day of his passing Steve's mind was amazingly sharp and he always enjoyed sharing stories from his past. The family is very thankful to the staff for their care and friendship that made Deer Lodge dad's new home. We take comfort in knowing that Steve is reunited with his wife Anne. A private family service officiated by Father Michael Kwiatkowski has taken place at All Saints Cemetery. Gone But Not Forgotten Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044

Carol, Dianna and Bob...I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, but I do believe that heaven has certainly got an extra person there now.. gosh we liked your dad so much Janet and I!! I have been running the salon for 19 years at Deer Lodge and your Dad was one of THE nicest, kindest, interesting gentlemen that I have ever met there. Also I will miss your family coming in to the centre, especially Carol who I got to know so well while doing your mom's hair every week. My thoughts are with all of you... - Posted by: Sandra Magnusson (Barber/friend Deer Lodge Hair Salon) on: Nov 30, 2013
