JUDY WASYLIK (nee MCMAHON) On December 1, 2013, at Victoria Hospital, Judy Wasylik, beloved wife of Nick, passed away at the age of 63 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by siblings Mike (April), Peggy, Frankie (Mike), and Val. Judy also leaves to mourn her passing, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Judy was predeceased by her mother and father, Ruth and James McMahon. Judy wished that we celebrate her life, not her passing. Born in Winnipeg on November 6, 1950, Judy's childhood was a happy one. She was an adventurous soul with pen pals worldwide; she loved animals and Coronation Street, and lived life to the fullest. In 1980, she moved to British Columbia, which she loved. Returning home to Winnipeg in 1999, she worked at a local communications company. Shortly after her return, she met the love of her life, Nick. Their 12 years together were filled with love, affection and happiness. Judy will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her. She will forever be in our hearts and minds. A Celebration of Judy's life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's memory to the CancerCare Foundation. Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I was so fortunate to meet Judy while working at CanWest in 2003. She became a great friend along with Nick and they attended BBQ's at our home. Judy's dry sense of humour was so important to me... she made me laugh! But, she also taught me how to be organized, not panic when things started to go off-side at work. I admired her work ethic and her true attention to details. Most of all I was so pleased to see the love and affections shared by Judy and Nick. Love is a wonderful thing. I'll miss you, Judy! - Posted by: Laurie Johnston (Co-worker at CanWest) on: Dec 04, 2013

  • Judy was a person I always looked up to, even though she was shorter than me. She was a great co-worker who I relied on for her expertise and valued opinions. Judy (Kiddo I called her) was honest and direct but most of all she was a wonderful friend. I will miss her dearly. As with all God's creatures, someday they must depart And sorrow will be replaced in time, by the memories you hold in your heart - Posted by: Elaine (co-worker and friend) on: Dec 04, 2013

  • Judy was a very special friend to me. I met her when I worked at Canwest with her. She was very helpful at work guiding me in learning new steps in my job. Judy was a very smart and organized person. She loved her job and was very efficient. When I left Canwest we would meet for drinks after work and share stories, talk about our cats, laugh and talk about things going on in our lives. We became close friends and she is a friend who I will miss very much. Words can't express my sadness at losing such a great friend. - Posted by: Janice Olender (friend and co-worker) on: Dec 04, 2013
