ARTHUR W. SINGBEIL Peacefully with his family at his side, Art Singbeil, 86 years of age, passed away on December 1, 2013 at Deer Lodge Centre. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Christine, son Rick (Anne), daughter Linda, grandsons Steven and Darren Penner, and sister Evelyn Pestrak. Also surviving are sister-in-law Marlene, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, and brother Carl. Art was born in Beausejour on April 4, 1927. His family moved to Winnipeg Beach and later to Narcisse, where he met his future wife. Art and his family moved to Winnipeg in 1949, at which time Art started work with Bullocks. After marrying Christine in 1950, Art took up the trade of steamfitting through Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 254. He worked for numerous companies throughout his working life, until retiring in 1991. Art loved working with his hands and was always ready to lend a hand when needed. He was devoted to family and home - his yard was the envy of the neighbourhood. In 1990 he was blessed with the birth of twin grandsons who brought him great joy after retirement. Many thanks to the staff of Deer Lodge Centre for their care of Art in the last months of his life. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make donations to Parkinson Society. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
