LENA LILLIAN HILDEBRANDT (nee LARENCE) 1937 - 2013 It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma, Lena Hildebrandt at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall, Manitoba on November 29, 2013 with her family at her side. Lena was predeceased by her husband George, their infant son Darrell, parents Beatrice and Euclid, sisters Dolly, Irene and brother Allan. She is survived by her three sons Gerald (Debbie), Perry (Debbie), Sheldon (Cheryl); grandchildren, Chad (Sari), Jesse, Garrett, Dylan and Sydney; great-grandchildren Preston, Lachlann and Emersyn; sisters Esther, Cookie (Gerry); brother Kelly (Linda) and numerous other family members. Mom was born on December 2, 1937 in St. Laurent, Manitoba and attended school at the Grey Nuns Convent in St. Laurent. Mom met dad at an Old Time Dance at Meadow Lea Hall and they were married in April 1957. They lived in Alberta from 1957 to 1965, when they moved back to Manitoba and purchased Tom Bailey's farm at Meadow Lea. Mom loved trips to Vegas, fiddling music and Old Time dances at Meadow Lea Hall. Mom was a wonderful cook and you never left her house hungry. She even had her own catering business for a number of years in the Interlake. Mom was very involved in the community, and she and Dad were instrumental in getting the New Meadow Lea Hall established. Mom and Dad farmed until they retired in 1992. One of Mom's many passions were her grandchildren and she always looked forward to spoiling them during their visits. There were always lots of treats at Grandma's house. As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family ceremony will be held at Meadow Lea Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Graham and the staff at Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall for all the years of excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 7 - 414 Westmount Dr., Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2. You are now reunited with your dancing partner. Dance up a storm. We Love You Mom! MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net
