MURIEL MARGARET MCMILLAN (nee SCHICK) Margaret peacefully passed away at Emerson Personal Care Home on December 4, 2013, at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her daughter Lee (Bryce) Chubaty of Emerson, MB; her sons Lorne (Lorie) of Maine, USA and Grant (Connie) of Brandon, MB; grandchildren Gail, Wayne, David and Kristina and their families; sister Bernice (George) Taylor and sister-in-law Lorraine Schick. Margaret was born on November 16, 1924, and was raised in Winnipeg, MB. She went to teach school in Miami, MB and married Max McMillan in 1946. For 60 years Margaret called Miami her home. She strongly believed in education, tirelessly worked for her community and had a passion for travelling. In 2004 she and Max moved to Emerson so they could be closer to family. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Max in 2008, her parents Bernard and Kathleen Schick, her sister Dorothy and her brother Dave. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013, at Miami United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Allison Halstead officiating. Interment will be at Miami Cemetery.
