Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERRY MARKOVICH With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dad and grandpa, Gerry on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the age of 82 years. Gerry was born to George and Olga in Sudbury, ON. He enjoyed many adventures during his childhood as he was raised in both Toronto, ON and Kirkland Lake, ON. Dad graduated from the Metropolitan Toronto Police Academy and spent much of his career on the force working undercover in the Organized Crime Unit. It was there that he met fellow officer and love of his life, Theresa. After moving to Winnipeg, dad began work in janitorial services and enjoyed the many years he spent as Accounts Executive at Bee Clean until his retirement. Gerry was a sports enthusiast, but his passion was for curling. In addition to playing for many years out of "The Friendly Fort", he served as President of the Fort Garry Curling Club and President of the Manitoba Curling Association. He is an Honorary Life Member of the Fort Garry Curling Club, the Manitoba Curling Association and the Past President's Association of Manitoba Curling Clubs. An avid and lifelong volunteer, the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce awarded him the Long Distinguished Service Award in 2004. Gerry was predeceased by his wife Theresa.
