ALFREDO AGUIAR Alfredo peacefully passed away on December 9, 2013 with his family by his side after a courageous two year fight with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Alfredo Da Costa and Luciana Pereira Estevam; brothers Hermano Aguiar and Luis Manuel Aguiar. Alfredo will be sadly missed by his wife Maria Eduarda; children Sonia (Joe), Miguel (Linda), Patrick (Teresa) and Stephanie (Steve); grandchildren Caterina, Caitlin, Melissa, Isabella, Sebastien and Matteo. He also leaves to mourn, sisters Evelina (Jose) Machado and Gloria (Jose) Camara and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto. Alfredo was born in Acores, Portugal and immigrated to Canada in 1974 and lived in St. Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec for 11 years. He then came to Winnipeg in 1984 and worked at Borland for 27 years. He enjoyed watching and playing soccer, gardening, hockey (especially when the Montreal Canadiens were playing), fishing, dancing and spending summers going to Selkirk Provincial Park. But above all, what he cherished the most, was spending Sundays with his family. We would like to thank the nurses of Unit 1 (4th floor) at Seven Oaks Hospital (especially Dana), the Palliative Team (especially his nurse Jennifer) and Dr. Ahmed and his assistant Tamara from CancerCare Manitoba. Prayers will be held on Friday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church with interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Miguel, Patrick, Joe, Steve, Eusebio and Hermano. In lieu of flowers, please donate to CancerCare Manitoba. Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044
