NORA EVELYN GRAHAM EDWARDS (DUNN) November 17, 1926 - December 12, 2013 With great sadness the family of Nora Edwards (nee Dunn) announces her passing on the evening of December 12, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Don and brother-in-law Henry Hadland. She is survived by sister Marj Hadland of Shoal Lake, MB and brother David (Donnie) Dunn of Russell, MB. Nora leaves behind her five children and their families: Nancy, Tom (Karen), Rob (children Ashley, Holly (Taylor) and Ben), Paul (Bev, Lauren and Devin) and Ward (Jan), as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Mom was born in Silvercreek Municipality, MB to Tim and Peggy Dunn on November 17, 1926. She grew up on the family farm and was educated in a one room schoolhouse and attended high school in Russell. She continued her schooling, receiving a Bachelor of Arts from United College. Nora returned home to teach at the one room school she had attended. Teaching was not for her and she returned to Winnipeg to work at NorthWest Airlines. It was during this time she met her future husband Don Edwards. They were married August 1, 1953. The family moved to Stony Mountain in 1961 where they were active members of the local community and church. Mom particularly enjoyed curling, golf and had a love of traveling. She belonged to the Teulon Golf and Country Club for many years. She made numerous trips abroad and within Canada, often to follow curling. The family would like to thank the Riverview Health Centre staff for their kindness, compassion and care over the past three years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Stony Mountain United Church. Internment to follow in the Stony Mountain cemetery. • I offer my deepest condolences on the loss of your mother Nora. I practically grew up in the Edward's household and I have very fond memories of Nora and the entire family. And did she ever love curling! You couldn't look anywhere in that house without spying a curling trophy or other related tournament memorabilia. - Posted by: Eric Brolund (Family Friend) on: Dec 16, 2013
